I was fortunate to be born into a family of avid photographers, my grandfather and father were rarely with out their cameras. Their hobby became my passion. My first camera was given to me by my father. It was an Adox Golf 63 with a STEINHEIL MUNCHEN CASSAR 1:4.5 F 75MM lens. The camera was produced from 1952-58. My father purchased it in Venezuela in 1958 in of all places Sears. I used this camera for most of my teen years. It was a wonderful camera and an incredible tool for such a young photographer . Many of the photos presented here were taken with this camera. I still have the camera and it is as functional now as in 1958. My families origins are from Italy, my parents were born in small town called Albanella. They emigrated to Venezuela in 1955, and finally came to Canada in 1960.

These photographs are a pictorial history of my families journey through a challenging and wonderful life. A life like so many others, of love, sacrifice, hardship, joy and ultimately acceptance of a life lived. I have always been fascinated by old photographs. Looking at them stirs so many emotions, so many questions. I find myself transported back in time, trying to imagine the lives lived in those photos. I have literally spent hours viewing these photos fascinated by the images, picturing the moment the photographer clicked the shutter, what they spoke of after the photo was taken, and it is all the more mesmerizing looking at your parents, your grandparents, and even your great grandparents at the lives they once lived. As our future generation will look at photos of us with that same fascination and wonder. Hopefully we can leave as wonderful a legacy as my parents left me. The following photos are a striking reminder to me of how limited and precious our time truly is on this place called earth. I hope you enjoy this journey back in time, and that these photos allow you a brief pause in our otherwise over-saturated world, to suspend yourself , however briefly in a LIFE LIVED.
